Traditional Bookmark
Best site for most professional-looking self-published books?
I’m working on my first book-length piece of writing, and I’ve been mulling going the self-publication route while I search for a traditional publisher, but the few self-published books I’ve seen lack…well, I can’t really put my finger on it, whether it’s overly glossy covers or drab page layout or whatever, but if I go the self-publishing route at the outset with my book, I’d like to have as wide a range of detail options in making my book appear as professional-looking as a self-published book could look. Anyone have much experience with any online self-publishers or other non-traditional publishers?
And if I might plug my (eventual) book, bookmark DieForJesus.com and keep checking back for updates. 
William, I plan on offering an e-book version, but I realize that not everyone has computer access, and some people (like me) prefer to have a hard copy of a book that they can take with them wherever they go and easily pass along to others when they’re done reading the book.
I’ve written a dozen books–my last is an EBook. I publish the ebook through my own web site(s). Formatting is a function of
Microsoft Word and the PDF generator. You can do about what you want. This approach gives you a lot of flexibility when it comes to static and dynamic art and animations as the books are read with a smart application like Adobe Reader or even a browser.
