I would like to get healthy. Where do I start?

I have never eaten healthy. It seems after my daughter arrived my body continued to gain weight on my regular diet. I hate salad and yogurt. I know one thing about getting in shape. You have to eat balanced and exercise, no short cuts for a healthy heart. I was born with the greatest ticker anyway. What are some SENSIBLE cookbooks out there? Please no fads. Exercise part is easier. I’m mostly confused because I have iron anemia. Some many say don’t eat red meat whereas I’m suppose to eat meats like venison for the high iron. Best advice gets the points.

Well you can eat red meats, just as long as they are lean meats….try going on a diet lesser in starches (potatoes, breads, pastas, fruits etc..) also try a cookbook for weight watchers, those may help. Even if you hate salads, try eating one with good toppings, like almonds, diced ham, cucumber, radish, tomatoes, cheeses, and a nice dressing..also use dark leaved salads. Also try drinking ice cold water (when you drink a glass of ice cold water your body burns calories to bring your body temp. back to normal) and onions and radishes help raise your metabolism and burn calories also.
